Meghan is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who has a Bachelor of Child Studies degree, a Bachelor of Social Work degree, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
Meghan has always been passionate about working in a helping profession to support others. Her diverse education and work experiences have
afforded her many skills and a continued, unwavering passion for supporting individuals as they explore life’s challenges.
Meghan believes in creating a safe, inclusive, non-judgemental space for counselling and also believes that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Consequently, she takes a client-centered approach, tailoring sessions to meet each client’s unique needs and preferences through evidence-based practices.
Meghan draws from therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Somatic techniques, trauma-sensitive practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and the Gottman Method.
She works with people 12+ in the specializations listed above, as well as with stress, emotional regulation, women’s issues, families, and couples therapy.
On a personal note, Meghan has faced the challenges of dealing with a complex health condition from a young age. As someone unable to find anyone to connect with to understand what she was going through, Meghan is very committed to supporting those who may be
experiencing something similar. Genuine understanding and empathy are crucial in therapy,
and Meghan endeavours to come to the table with these qualities, no matter what the challenge you are encountering. Clients have shared with Meghan their appreciation for this quality.
As a therapist, Meghan is passionate about helping people not only discover hope to heal, but
empowering them with validation and strategies for their growth to achieve a more positive sense
of healthy well-being.
If you work together, it will be Meghan’s honour to walk beside you and not only support you through challenges, but cheer you on as you approach your goals and victories.
Meghan is currently accepting new clients for daytime, evening and weekend appointments. She can be reached directly at meghannimmo@sanapsychological.com
